Big cities have a lot to offer. All facilities are near and by your side. Your gym will possibly only be 5 minutes away and that’s a big advantage. My gym in Tilburg is also at 1 minute away. I often went to it, to burn some calories. But I’m not always motivated to sweat and burn. Then the distance makes any sense. Gyms are often decorated with boring details and are focused at moving. The experience and how it feels aren’t important. So you need a lot of motivation and energy to keep on moving.

1Rebel Gym in London is an example of a perfect place, for those who hate the Gym. It calls itself, a high intensity and dual studio fitness concept. The experience is central and moving isn’t boring anymore. The man responsible for designing the concept is 1Rebel owner James Balfour, son of Fitness First owner Mike Balfour. He says, "we wanted to do something very different to Fitness First. There are no memberships but you will pay for every session. Just to increase your intensity of sporting. Studio C102 has carried the project. Their brief was to design a gym where each class felt like a night out. The focus isn’t on moving, but on the ambiance. The gyms looks like a luxury brand filled with fancy lights and copper details. The spinning room named; ‘RIDE studio’ is most important. It has a small stage, which is intended for instructors, but also DJ’s and other artists. Now and then these acts will bring some live music and also motivation into the room.
The ‘RESHAPE studio’ is filled with machines, which will give you a short and whole body workout to stay fit. Not only the sport areas themselves are special. Also the locker rooms are extraordinary chic. The showers are big and also refrigerated towels can’t be missing. Beside sport 1Rebel Gym want to stimulate good eating habits. So they created an organic juice bar; Roots & Bulbs. Which menu is filled with smoothies and responsible food.

1Rebel Gym fits perfect in our experience economy. They think out of the box and respond at feelings and senses. Not only the exercises itself become a experience with live DJ’ and other acts. But also the environment will give you another energy and make it special.
